Possibly: Although very improbable, fresh blood from an hiv+ person applied to an open wound of an hiv-negative person could theoretically cause infection in the latter.  If this has occurred would suggest that you see an HIV specialist and be tested at standard intervals.

Never documented: While we often like to say in medicine, never say never, parasitic transfer of HIV, has not been documented. I believe it is the minuscule amount of blood that can be transmitted through a parasite like lice, that would make transfer of virus to a normal host unlikely. Get rid of the lice by the way and feel better!

: No, not unless the cut was deep, fresh, and actively bleeding. No risk for HIV or any other STI. (Except maybe for men having sex with men, in whom monkeypox may result from hand as well as genital or anal contact.)

: No, it's highly unlikely that you would contract HIV from that type of exposure, since you did not even touch the blood.

i went for covid vacine today.so nurse clean my skin with cotton which was not sterile and then injected me.can you get hiv if cotton was reused which contained fresh blood.so i m concernd if needle puncture in skin can cause hiv to go inside my body?

: Where did you go to have your vaccine?  It is unlikely that cotton was not sterile.  Was antiseptic-type solution applied with the cotton.  The scenario that you have described is not very likely.  Did you comment or express any concern regarding what occurred.
