Hep C is not herpes: Hepatitis c and herpes simplex (cold sore) are different viruses and are not related. Hepatitis is most commonly w/o any symptoms although it can be seen with abdominal pain, yellowing of skin and eyes, discoloration of stool and urine. It takes more than one day for either hepatitis c or herpes to develop. Most likely you have been exposed to herpes previously and it just came out at this point.

: In theory it may happen if the victim is positive for hep C or HIV but in reality, the chance of infection is almost nil, you do not need to worry. You are a great samaritan.

Most likely: If there is no other identifiable cause for the above, adverse effects to the medications is the only explainable choice. You are to talk to your treating doc about that as well.

Possibly: The cdc estimates that about 20% of new cases of hepatitis c are from sex. However, the risk for any one person is low. Men who have anal sex with other men are at higher risk. People who are young, have multiple partners, or have sores like herpes or syphilis are also at risk. Heterosexual couples who have been together a while are at low risk.

Very unlikely: Hepatits C has been oversold as an STD. In fact, the only proved sexual transmission is between gay men with potentially traumatic anal sex practices. The frequency of hep C in the heterosexual partners of infected persons is exactly the same as in anyone else. To be maximally safe, use condoms if you have sex with a partner known to have hep C. Otherwise no worries about sexual transmission.

: Clinical remission does not mean they could not be shedding virus especially having it in the blood. High risk exposure to enough body fluid when they are shedding the virus in the blood could still lead to transmission of infection.

Take it easy: Hepatitis-c infection is spread through sharing needles,  receiving blood products,  sexual contact; etc.  It does not spread through digesting food or water.   Good luck !

No risk, no worries: There is llittle or no chance of blood exposure from this and no risk of HCV. Don't worry about it.

No risk, no worry: The hepatitis C virus is not transmitted by saliva, shared eating untensils, shared drinks, etc. Only by blood exposure, as with shared drug injection equipment. (Even sex is pretty much an urban myth, with almost no sexual transmission except between men having traumatic rectal sex with othe rmen.)
