: Acetone, the usual ingredient in nail polish remover does have a strong smell but is generally harmless. if the spill was on a carpet there may still be a residue of the chemical.
Try to air out the area some more.

: If it was usual size bottle 236 -400 Ml, not much should be left as it evaporates quickly. Nail polish remover is mostly acetylene so clean the surface with soap and hot water. Hope it helps.
