after sweating/taking a shower, my body becomes itchy. this only happens when i take cold or lukewarm showers, not with hot showers. i dont get rashes, and the itch goes away w/ time or faster if i apply heat (ex. sunbathe).lotion does not help. why?

: Are you sure there is no rash when you have the itching? There is an allergic condition called cold urticaria, triggered by cooling the skin. If that's it, you should see hives (welt-like itchy pink spots). See your personal physician, or a dermatologist. Good luck.

hello doc. i have develop few purplish to dark red itchy rashes on my scrotum. these becomes severe itchy when i work out or on sweating. i get good results on washing with hydrogen peroxide. but they donot go away completely. i am 32.

May be fungal/yeast: infection on the skin of the scrotum.  The groin area is a common place that fungal infections occur.  The fungus tends to grow well on areas that are warm and moist, and often itch worse when the area become more warm and moist (eg. when working out and/or sweating). Go to the ER: There could be a reaction to the insect bite. Go to an ER now as your symptoms are concerning for allergic reaction or envenomation. Without the actual animal being seen it is almost impossible to tell what bit you.

Possible Fungus: Fungus grows more with heat and sweat.  This should be scraped and tested by a Dermatologist, to see if it is a fungal infection, psoriasis, or Seborrheic Dermatitis, all which can look similar, in the groin. You may wish to try first over the counter Clotrimazole Cream, twice a day, 2 weeks, to kill fungus. Using an anti-fungal powder through the summer may prevent recurrences.

Cough: Why not just think it is an upper respiratory infection? If you have had unprotected, risky sex then testing is worth it, but maybe it is simply the "common cold.".

: Yes, those described symptoms may occur in Covid-19 infection or any other viral illnesses. You should isolate yourself and have the test done, PCR test is preferred because Covid-19 antigen test is not reliable.
