i recently found out that i have two small hernias in my stomach not showing and no pain before i new i had them i was heavy lifting im getting mixed results on the do and dont like can i do pull-ups and can i lift just not heavy i want to get info?

"Stomach hernias" ?: With proven hernias "in the stomach", presumably this means in the abdominal wall in the stomach area.  Weight lifting including pullups is potentially going to increase the hernia size and cause a need for emergent surgery.  A referral to a general surgeon to review testing results and advise as to exercise parameters is indicated.

Hiatal hernia : It is a diaphragm weakness in the area where the esophagus enters the abdomen and as it gets bigger it can pull part of the stomach into the chest cavity. The cause is unknown . It could be a birth defect that gets worse as you get older. It could be increase in internal abdominal pressure from obesity.  But skinny people can have it to.

Gastritis: You must be referring to a hiatal hernia involving your cardia, in which case yes, that can cause you bloating of your stomach. Taking a proton pump inhibitor should take care of the gastritis. However, a large hiatal hernia that is symptomatic often requires surgery to correct it.

can young children get a hernia? my 9 year old complains of pain in his stomach by this belly button that comes and goes. he finds relief when staying still. could it be a hernia? no other symptoms. should i be concerned?

Doubt hernia: Stomach pain at that age is usually heartburn,cramps or gas. A hernia would be way down the list of possibilities. It is possible at any age but would not present with that pattern of symptoms.

Depends: When you say a distended stomach it could mean that you are not passing gas, it could mean that your bowels are not yet fully working, or that your hernia has recurred. The colon typically wakes up 72 hours after surgery, but it could take longer. If you are not having bowel movements, and stomach is getting more distended you should see your surgeon soon. Good luck- hernia operations are tough.

Unfortunately, : Unfortunately, they can.  With time and intra-abdominal pressure (from sneezing, coughing, lifting, laughing, etc) it can make a ventral hernia bigger.  If it's a post-surgical issue, it would be good to see the surgeon to get this checked out to be sure it doesn't seem problematic to them.

i have a large hiatal hernia. whenever i get severe stomach pains, the pain also travels to my left shoulder. why is this?

Nerve root: Hello, as babies when we are developing stomach gets its nerve supply through the same nerve root that supplies the shoulder. After we grow the stomach gets pulled down but because the nerve supply is the same, any pain in the stomach or spleen area can radiate to your left shoulder blade.
