is it possible for you to get a cold in your neck ?

Yes - in a way.: In traditional chinese medicine there is a concept of pernicious winds that the neck is particularly susceptible to.  When it is cold keep both your neck and head well covered to prevent effects of pernicious winds.

Fairly large. : Remember, the lymphs nodes are where your body is fighting infection. So if you do have a cold, those lymph nodes could be sore to the touch, tender and swollen.

Ur seeing arteriolar: response: Arterioles control blood flow to capillaris, body wide. More blood into capillaries of skin ↑es pink-to-red color  of skin (skin actually yellow due to proteins). Intense enough capillary flow increase also tends to result in various &quot;itchy&quot; sensations, as in sun burn, niacin or post menopausal flushing responses. When we feel hot, brain ↑es blood flow to skin to release heat/cool off.

when i stretch my neck down the muscles in my back down my spine but only part way down get cold like i applied icy hot. what could it be?

Have this looked at: Hard to tell in this format but could be tight muscles, vertebrae out of alighment , herniated discs, issues with the meninges, spinal cord......
I recommend an examination.  If you develop a fever or worsening of neck stiffness then go to ER

Irritation: It may be irritation of your posterior esophagus, such as an area of "esophagitis" that gets adversely stimulated and irritated with hot or cold substances.  This discomfort since in the back of your esophagus can be felt to be in the back of your neck.  Just a thought, so best to get it evaluated to be sure if it persists.  Best wishes.

i have been suffering from a bad cold for a week. now when i cough i get slight neck pain but it doesn't hurt at other times. should i be concerned?

Prob. not: you may have sprained neck muscles from coughing.If pain worsens, see doctor.

Oh, no - Canada?: Canada may be a hard place to live if your body reacts to cold. Until you can get to a warmer clime, you might have to resort to adequately warm layers of clothing and central heat. Talk with your doctor and pt providers for specific suggestions for you.

Most likely yes: Muscle twitching in general does not indicate any serious ailment unless there are other associated symptoms or signs (i.e. weakness, loss of sensation, etc).  If these symptoms persist and are bothersome, I would recommend that you seek the consultation of a neurologist.

Autonomic nerves: The autonomic (involuntary) nervous system is 2 parts: one called sympathetic and the other is parasympathetic. The sympathetic part is responsible for panic (fear fight flight anger and intense exercise) and also gets excited during orgasm. The problem is that fixing this problem is not as straight forward. Discuss with your doc possibly increasing Paxil (paroxetine) or using other meds like beta blockers?
