Would not do so.: Alcohol is not contraindicated with a Z pak. However, consuming alcohol while taking prescription medications is not recommended. Alcohol can also suppress your immune system while you are trying to recover from an infection. Both substances are metabolized by your liver, and the concentration of your antibiotic may be affected if you have an underlying liver disease.

Azithromycin - Zpack: Azithromycin has a half-life of 4 days -which is why the 'Z-pack' is only 5 days long as compared to a standard course of antibiotics that may last 10 days. If you were sick enough to require a Z-pack, then your health probably isn't 100% and therefore a doctor can't recommend a night of drinking and partying. Do what's right for you! I would recommend to take it easy. There will be other parties!

: Yes, no problem. Azithromycin (Z-pak) and alcohol (in moderation) are OK together. You could have had "a drink of two" from the beginning of your treatment. The only issue is that both alcohol and azithromycin can cause stomach upset, and the two together might cause discomfort. Even that can be avoided by taking the drug with food.
