Don't mix: Per Drugs.Com drug interaction checker: "You may have unpleasant side effects such as fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting" if you  mix bactrin with alcohol.

Would hold off.: Using Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole / trimethoprim) &amp; Alcohol together may cause rapid heart rate, nausea, vomiting &amp; warm / red skin. These would be unpleasant side effects.

: I generally don't recommend consumption of anything before your plan to recline &amp; sleep. A single Bactrim tablet with minimal water to wash it down may be fine, but any large drink/food consumption/etc. that fills the stomach can lead to backwash pressure at the stomach entrance and aggravate heartburn. By itself, taking this before bedtime is not contraindicated.

Alcohol while taking: Although modest alcohol use doesn't reduce the effectiveness of most antibiotics, it can reduce your energy and delay how quickly you recover from illness. So, it's a good idea to avoid alcohol until you finish your antibiotics and are feeling better.

i'm on bactrim (tmp/smx). i've heard and read that it can contribute to kidney stones if you don't drink enough fluids. i worry that i'm not drinking enough but my urine is pale yellow to clear. i try to drink at least 2 l but sometimes i forget?

: Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim DS) does not have kidney stones listed as a side effect or adverse effect. There are other verified side effects, please review the manufacturer insert that should be included with the prescription from the pharmacy. Adequate hydration is always best practice regardless.

Yes: Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) not associated with increased stone risk like older sulfa drugs. Diamox, yes as it lowers urinary citrate, an inhibitor of calcium stone formation. Regardless of composition of urinary stones, the best and most effective preventive measure is increased fluid intake with the goal of making 2.0-2.5 l (~65-85 oz) urine/24 hrs. How much to drink to achieve that goal depends on many factors.

what's something i can do for acne if i already take bactrim and use tretnoin cream and eat healthy while only drinking water but i'm against taking accutane because it's side effects my acne isn't really bad but it still noticeable?

: Are you allergic other antibiotics such as tetracycline antibiotic? Bactrim is not commonly used for treating acne because the side effects which can be serious with long term use. Your acne has improved, not bad at all if just noticeable. Whatever, you can try a stronger tretinoin formula or switch to adapalene 2.5% as a trial.
