Energy Drinks: First there is no medical or health benefit from 'energy drinks'. These drinks are usually high in caffeine and/or sugars.  I would read the labels and if there are any carbs in the drink recommend that you not ingest it.

But, in general i would recommend avoiding these unnecessary and non-nutritional drinks all together.

Olive oil: If you mean grabbing a cup of olive oil and drinking, the answer is no. That is not a balanced healthy diet, and neither is atkins. Eating lean protein is fine, but should be balanced with vegetables and fruit. Eating a bunch of fat (fatty meat, oil, etc) is not healthy. Atkins may make you lose weight, but it does so at the expense of causing other problems.

No: Diet coke is not food. The balance of acids in it will tend to rob your bones of calcium and weaken them. The artificial sugar nutrasweet breaks down into methanol and formaldehyde, both of which are toxic.

Wean yourself: Wean yourself slowly. You don't want to go through caffeine withdrawal. Start by cutting your normal amount in half, in a few days to a week, cut the amount you take in half again. I recommend replacing it with water, since water is the healthiest. There are alternatives such as green tea or coffee which also contain caffeine and antioxidants.

Yes, ... but.....: Because artificial sweeteners are used in diet drinks, they do not raise blood sugar. So from a blood sugar perspective, diet drinks are ok. Some of the artificial sweeteners including aspartame have been indicted, but there is no credible evidence that the small amount in 1-2 diet sodas a day is harmful. Certainly, there are healthier beverages: water, unsweetened tea, even coffee! Good wishes:)

Good question: It contains a chemical that causes a phenomenon known as excitotoxicity in brain cells. We have information now that indicates that changes in brain are responsible for obesity (failure to process food properly) and it is possible that sweeteners are at least partially responsible for obesity.
