Outline answer: Sperm will be viable for, say, between 2-3 days after intercourse, and after ovulation an oocyte can be fertilized for 10-24 hours. So get the sperm in early! Since you cannot "know" when ovulation will be unless you own an US machine, best strategy is aim for early, the sperm will wait for the egg,  but NOT the other way around

Your "fertile period" which is the time in your cycle when you are most likely to get pregnant if you have frequent sexual-genital intercourse with a fertile man, beginning about 1 day before you ovulate and extending  to 2 to 3 days after ovulation.

Almost none: There is almost no risk of getting pregnant if you have been taking Birth Control Pills and pull out method.It makes the risk almost none

Possibly: An ovulation test detects lh in the urine.  Lh and HCG (pregnancy hormone) are very similar chemically, so a test for one will often detect the other.  The ovulation predictor may not be as sensitive as a regular pregnancy test.

Therefore, an egg must be released for pregnancy to occur.  Ovulation occurs usually around day 10-17 of the menstrual cycle, with day 1 being the day you get your period.

Possible: Sperm can live for 48-72 hours in the female genital tract and can fertilize an egg if ovulation happens. There are even some reports of sperm living as long as 5 days. It is possible then to get pregnant. However, if your goal is pregnancy having intercourse at the time of ovulation would be best.
