Rare: It's possible but VERY rare.  Rare allergies to nickel or latex have been reported.  The next step you take should be to schedule an examination wit an Allergist.

Nickel allergy: Stainless stel contains nickel and skin contact can cause irritiation and rash. A common clinical finding is a small irritating rash below the navel caused by nickel in the blue-jean button or snap. Dermatologists typically perform patch testing if confirmation of this sensitivity is required.

can i be allergic to my retainer? i wake up with stomach pains and nausea when i sleep with them on. i also felt it when i had braces.

Not related: If you were allergic to your retainer, the reaction would be local in your mouth. Your nausea does not seem to be from it. Do you have post nasal drip? Nasal allergies? Or acid reflux?

ever since i got braces,my lips are red ,burn,sore and swollen,is it possible i'm allergic to the braces?if i am then are there alternative braces that don't cause allergy?second question is how do i confirm that it is the braces causing this?

Normal: Typically, when a person gets orthodontic appliances, they begin mouth breathing to compensate for the added difficulty of closing their mouth. This results in dry cracked lips. In addition, the appliances rubbing against the lips, tongue and mouth, can cause some redness and swelling. Try using vaseline to coat the lips, reapplying often. Make sure you are drinking lots of fluids.

Go to ER: You are having a reaction to something and a fever may indicate an infection so go to ER to get it sorted out before it gets worse

No: Not that I know of. If you are having GI distress it would be prudent to see your Primary Care Physician or a specialist Gastroenterologist for history, examination, and appropriate testing. If required, referral to a specialist 
Allergist will be made. Also, inform the General Dentist or specialist Orthodontist of your symptoms so he/she can communicate with your physicians.

i have moderate grade proximal patella tendinopathy moderate prepatella bursitis would a brace be useful as strapping helps but allergic to tape. ?

Accepted Answer

Probably: Since strapping helps, a brace is likely to work.  Be sure to get the brace professionally fitted so that it places forces on the knee in a similar way to strapping.

how to treat severe contact dermatitis from allergic reaction to neoprene in ankle brace ?

Contact Dermatitis: Try wrapping your ankle with gauze or something gentle to avoid your skin coming in contact directly with the neoprene. You could also try neoprene or latex free ankle braces. Avoiding direct contact is best.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and call: Use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help with the rash symptoms for the here and now.    Stop using the brace and call your physician.

i had an alergic reation on knee from a brace. i scratched rash. next day had bumps on hands and arms. newbrace too tight.rash is spreading everywhere?

Contact dermatitis: You may have an allergic reaction to material in the splint (contact allergy to dye, or to latex?);  possible fungal or bacterial infection which will grow readily in the warm, moist environment of splinting.  See your doctor.
