Irregular menses: This can be the result of having any form of infection, inflammation, emotional disturbance, and so on and so on.  Your menstrual regularity is often dependent upon your overall health and UTI can cause it to become irregular.

Highly unlikely: Typically urinary tract infection should not cause false pos or neg hpt. Since you only missed your period for 2-3 days, it is likely that it is a bit too early for the test to pick-up. I would repeat in 3-4 days. I would consult doc to have your UTI treated. In the meantime, more fluids, and otc uristat (phenazopyridine) may help with burning/urgency etc..Good luck.

UTI: No the UTI is a separate issue.  I would take a pregnancy test.  Pregnancy can cause UTI's.

POSSIBLE: It maybe due to the UTI and stress. You did not mention what sort of protection that you use. Take over the counter pregnancy check if you are still concerned.

No: No.  I would see your gynecologist to make sure you are not pregnant or have pelvic inflammatory disease (pid) from a sexually transmitted disease (std).  The symptoms of an std can mimic the symptoms of a uti.

i am 2 weeks late but the tests were still negative. i am currently taking meds for uti. started taking it since i was a week late. could it be the cause of my missed period? my breats are tender and nipples are sore.

Yes: Illness can cause late menses (period).

missed period for 17 days. preg test negative last week. took cipro (ciprofloxacin) for uti last month and it caused one day red blood then dark spotting. am i ok?

Yes: Some women will  have a light cycle once in a while.  I would not worry about it unless you miss your next period.  If that happens then i would recommend being seen.

UTI: Some of the discomfort with UTI can be alleviated with Pyridium (phenazopyridine) (ask your doctor).  When you have infections this may interfere to some degree with your menstrual irregularities.  Good luck.

2? UTI and pregnancy: So you have white blood cells (that's what Leukocyte esterase measures) in your urine. That's abnormal no matter the circumstance and assuming the urine you collected wasn't contaminated with vaginal secretions. Nitrate is present only with certain bacterial species, particularly E. coli. So you have a different bug. And you are late for your period. In this case, I suggest you see a doctor today.
