If you missed one: period, it may be b/c of an imbalance between the 2 major hormones that affect the uterine lining.  At some point this lining starts shedding on its own which can cause bleeding without the associated cramping etc. that occur with a normal period.   If the bleeding is heavy &amp; lasts a long time, or is repetitive, you should be checked out.  Otherwise, no worries.  Dr. Anne

Depends on test: Read the directions that came with your test very carefully - it should tell you exactly how long to wait - but no longer.

If unsure, check with your obgyn for a blood test - its more sensitive.

Myths: Implantation bleeding is a myth that has no basis in the real world. The bleeding is something else.  Remember to have implantation there has to be a fetus.  Babies are conceived one to five days after a sexual encounter when the ovaries release an egg. It takes several days to transit through the fallopian tubes and into the uterus.  There is zero chance implantation happens 3 days after a period.

Your question?: Regardless of the reason you're on birth control pills, if you're not taking them as directed, they aren't going to be particularly effective.  If you're sexually active, you should get a pregnancy test.  If the test is negative,  discuss with your gyno a contraception method that doesn't require you to remember to take a pill every day.  There are other options out there.

Hard to tell: Since you don't know when you ovulate if you ovulate at all, it's hard for me to tell how accurate your blood test is. At least it is accurate at that time. If you're in doubt over potential pregnancy, repeat it in 3 -4 weeks.

A : A faint second line is possible if the HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) level is very low. This is generally due to a very early or failing pregnancy. There are a few other conditions that may cause a false positive pregnancy test but they are exceedingly rare.

Ask the doctor now: Since you took the pregnancy test at the doctor today, you should ask the doctor what the test result is.  Any test done by the doctor or at the doctor's office is the responsibility of the doctor to interpret.  Might have been an even better idea if you had asked before leaving the doctor's office.  It is still not too late to ask.

Get a blood test: It's hard to say if you had a false positive because it is so early. While most hpts are pretty accurate, some will be inaccurate early on. Since you have missed your period, go to your doctor and get a blood test for hcg. It will be much more sensitive and should not give you a false negative or positive.

Do you mean...: You had sex a couple months ago, she has since had 2 normal periods, and is now late for her 3rd?  If this is what you mean, and you have not had sex since then, she's not pregnant, or at least it's very unlikely.  Women miss periods all the time . There are many reasons for a missed period - stress, polycystic ovarian syndrome, malnutrition - are a few possibilities.

i know the period that u get while on bc pills is more withdraw bleeding and was wondering that if u did get prg on pills would you still miss period?

Birth control pills: Yes - if you become pregnant while using the pill, most women will still miss their period/withdrawal bleed. If you are taking the placebo pills and not getting a period, you should take a pregnancy test.
