No: It is something that is being caused from inside youre throat. Thyroid nodules are too far away from your mouth and are  not connected with the inside of your throat. Go get it checked by your ENT or family doctor.

Thyroid nodule: Thyroid cysts can certainly come/go.  The quality of ultrasounds, the interpretation, and the definition of a "nodule" can vary.  Hashimoto's can cause a patchy pattern that can look like a nodule. Certainly a small nodule that is so transient is not something to worry about.  An endocrinologist should be able to interpret things.

Trust your MD: If your endocrinologist has checked you and feel there is no change and .3cm is probably insignificant growth.  I would not worry.  If you are request another Ultra Sound guided FNA.

Size &amp; US appearance: Size of thyroid nodules is important. Usually larger than 1-1.5 cm. goes for fine needle biopsy. Certain ultrasound characteristic such as predominantly cystic, surrounding halo, avascular appearances usually  benign lesion.Microcalcifications,
marked hypoechogenicity, exttraglandular extension,
abnormal regional lymph nodes, absent or irregular halo, and solid composition- usually malignant.

Follow advice of end: Your Endocrinologist can guide you best. Your biopsy appears to be inadequate to make a definite diagnosis. Future follow up with an endocrinologist is advised so that your thyroid can be monitored for any further growth of this nodule which is easy to do with an ultrasound.

Yes: If thyroid nodules get bigger in size, they can compress the tissues around them including the esophagus and the windpipe. This can result in difficulty swallowing or breathing if they get large enough. If you are experiencing these symptoms you should be evaluated by a physician.

Methimazole and ptu (propylthiouracil) are pills that block thyroid hormone production, treating b) above. Radioactive  i-131 can shrink/destroy nodule, treating a) and b). Need surgery for c).

Depends: Thyroid nodules are very common in the population, especially in women.  Most are benign.  Biopsy is indicated if they are larger than 1 cm in size and mostly solid.  Thyroid function should also be assessed.
