Young children: Stopmache and vomiting is more apt to occur in young children with strep throat and less apt to occur in adults.

i have strep throat and i have extreme stomach pain and i can't eat or drink without excruciating pain. any ideas on what is wrong?

Strep throat : If you're on antibiotics, it takes 2-3 days to work, abdominal pain is very common with throat infections, you can gargle with antiseptic mouth wash,  take tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain,  soothing  throat lozenges,    eat soft bland diet &amp; drink plenty of fluids.  Feel better.

my 9 y/o daughter has stomach pain @ belly button and urinalysis came back positive for strep. what does this mean? she gets strep throat a lot too.

2different bugs: There may be no relationship between her strep throats and her urinary strep. The organism that usually causes a UTI is a contaminant that comes from the stool., whereas the strep that causes strep throat is respiratory in nature.

Strep: Did your doctor do a strep swab?  I would also be concerned for the flu? GERD is a recurrent problem.

Get evaluated: If a physical does not reveal any medical problems, all of your symptoms point to anxiety.  It would be helpful to figure out what is worrying you such as a change in routine/location, a loss, new job, etc.  It sounds like this is a recent development so your first step is to talk with a counselor to iidentify stress and learn relaxation techniques.  You can add medicine if needed.

Have you fed him?: There is likely more information needed to answer your question fully- but on first impression, if your son hasn't eaten anything because of a sore throat caused by strep, this scenario in itself can cause a stomach ache.

ideas on what can cause an 8 year old to have chronic swollen neck nodes with occasional underarm node swelling? its been over a year. biopsy was done a year ago and came back reactive node. also complains of intermittent stomach pain?

: Treatment for GERD may be indicated. The swelling if persistent should be checked.
A CBC,diff, Mono test and ESR recommended. Avoid spicy foods and consider a probiotic, after discussing with your physician.

: Your pattern is consistent with Chronic Daily Migraine and most common cause is Tylenol or other pain meds.  To break up, a neurologist can place you on steroids or CGRP items

Reflux: These could be symptoms of reflux or gastritis. I would see your primary care MD. In the meantime you can try over the counter medicines like Pepcid (famotidine) AC or Tums.
