Yes: Pneumonia is a common terminal event. If you have cough and fever, see your doctor for an evaluation. Most lung infections are readily treatable and a 27 year-old should not die from it.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

When too much pressure builds on the side of the collapsed lung, this can shift to the other side of your chest and inhibit blood flow to your heart and breathing, called "tension pneumothorax" that is an immediate threat to your life.
