Accepted Answer

No: Sleeping with your contacts does not color the white part of your eye (sclera).  But sleeping with your contacts in can put you at tremendous risk for overwhelming eye infections which can devastate the vision.  So whether it be for cosmetic concerns or the overall health of the eye, it is a good idea to not sleep in contacts.

Pinguecula: Sounds like the raised whitish to yellowish tissue that happens from time, wind, dust, UV rays and elements where our eyes are exposed. Usually in nasal corners of eyes where conjuctiva (white) mets the cornea (clear). It becomes a pterygium when it grows over the cornea.

please my 7years child has yellow tint stuff coming from the coner of her eyes. and when she is sleeping it comes and covers her eye lashes. please what do? or use?

: She most likely has bacterial conjunctivitis or commonly termed pink eye. She will need antibiotic eye drops if this is confirmed. Watch for eye pain and if this occurs see urgent care. Not sure: But you should seen your doctor for more history, exam, and blood test. If the white part of your eye is yellow should see the doctor very soon.

: Your symptoms are consistent with an upper respiratory infection and possible conjunctivitis but we cannot diagnose on this part of the platform. Both of these types of infections can be viral in which case, rest, fluids, and time will be the treatment. However, if you have a sinus infection or other bacterial infection, you need to be examined to determine that and give you proper treatment.

Sinusitis: Usually a bacterial infection is better in seven to ten days on antibiotics. Sinus infections, however, when bad can take several weeks to get better.  I am happy to hear your son is improving so rapidly.

Called pinguecula: No due to being a new mom, but due to sunlight exposure and chronic irritation

Yes and yes: The sclera, the white part of the eye, is thin in infants allowing you to see the underlying tissue which is black.  This gives it a grayish blue color.  Also newborns do sleep alot - be thankful, it doesn't stay that way.

Difficult to answer: The symptoms that you described may all be unrelated. If you have a single spot in the eye that Is yellow, this may be a sun related change called a pingueculum  that is commonly found in often asymptomatic. I recommend taking multivitamins to help with the strength of your nails. The chest discomfort it may be from heartburn. Trying to avoid eating late meals.  If concern or change, see eye Dr.
