i've read fake christmas trees often contain lead and that the pvc used in making many of them also is toxic and can off-gas. how safe is it to use an artificial tree? would prefer real, but am avoiding shopping in public right now due to covid?

Xmas Trees: I understand your concerns, but these same concerns can be said of many other products we use or already have in our homes. Xmas trees are usually sold outdoors, and with a proper face covering and glasses and maintaining a six foot distance from others,
the chances of catching COVID is quite small. Pick a time during the day without crowds to shop, buy real, and have a safe and Happy Holiday.

Accepted Answer

Don't worry: Unless you actually eat lead, which is why kids get lead poisoning in older houses (the lead paint chips are sweet!), you are unlikely to encounter any problems.  Stop being concerned and have a merry christmas.

my new artificial xmas tree (made of pe & pvc) gives off a slight plastic odor. should i be concerned abt any health hazards from the tree?

Don't Huff It: This phenomenon is known as "off gassing" and is the release of volatile organic compounds from the plastic manufacturing; it's the same thing that gives a new car its smell. Concentrating the fumes and inhaling them probably wouldn't be your finest idea, but it's unlikely to harm you if it's just a faint odor.  It should fade with time.

i have sweaty palms. how can i stop/prevent it. dose using antiperspirant cause cancer? and can applying tea tree oil on my palms help?

Antiperspirant: Try the same antiperspirant sold for under arms. MUST BE APPLIED TO DRY SKIN! More effective if you then wear plastic gloves over the antiperspirant for a few hours. Aluminum chloride does NOT cause any cancers. Tea tree oil is a loser, a waste of money, and often irritating.

does the graviola tree treat any cancer?

No.: There have been zero studies in humans regarding graviola fruit extract efficacy in the treatment of cancer. There was one study published in 2011 that showed promising results in vitro (i.e. Plastic dishes) and in vivo (i.e. Mice), but this was a very limited study with a small number of samples. Overall, the data regarding gfe as a cancer treatment is exceedingly limited.

could you tell me if in the family tree, nobody have gotten breast cancer before will there be a range of people getting breast cancer?

Accepted Answer

Yes: A common misconception is that women without family histories of breast cancer are not at risk.  In reality, 85-90% of all breast cancers are not hereditary;  therefore, all women are "at risk" for breast cancer, with a 1/8 lifetime risk in the us.

had a biopsy on scar on arm. came back foreign material, no skin cancer. was originally cut by a tree limp. could it be a piece of limb from tree?

Possibly: Most foreign bodies are slowly eliminated and extruded by your own healing process, but a retained fragment is still possible if it became walled off. Have a surgeon carefully examine the area to determine whether it's worthwhile to look deeper into the scar for retained foreign objects.

Depends: Many factors. Stress, medication, sometimes no apparent reason.Electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, hypoglicemia and so on, just to name a few. Mostly it is benign, but a doctor visit should be warranted if this episodes have the tendency to repeat.

how are pvcs treated if it is cause by myocarditis?

: PVC's are in general not treated as most of the time they do not interfere significantly with overall heart activity. If there is a clear cause and the condition is treatable, treating the root may address the PVC's as well.
