after taking 40mg of prednisone at the start and tapering down to 4mg, i have gained a less flat stomach. should i start working out now or wait?

Not sure: It depends on why you're taking prednisone. For example if you're having an inflammatory bowel flare-up, it's probably a good idea to get well first before aggressively working out. Ask the doc who prescribed it.

how is chrohns treated in stomach besides prednisone? do biologics/6mp work on stomach? dr. is busy and hard to get answers. 15 min sessions. help.

Get support: Studies suggest Biologics in conjunction with 6mp work well. Go to CCFA Crohn's &amp; Colitis Foundation of America for more help. I would consider getting a second opinion from a GI who has more staff and or time to respond to your questions.

Yes: Yes, over the long term it can lead to peptic ulcers,  and hypertension plus diabetes and accelerated coronary artery disease.

Absolutely: One of its notorious side effects. That's why steroids should be used only for limited time and very judiciously since they can precipitate significant mood swings.

back pain for 6 wks after 80lb kid  ran and jumped on me while laying on stomach. 9 day round of prednisone helped, but pain returned. any thoughts?

It can be injury of one of the spinal structures: It can be injury of one of the spinal structures.  Uncertain why you were given prednisone. I don't know what imaging you had, but since this lasted that long and suggest injury either to the bone or soft tissue

It may: Prednisone may cause irritation of the lining of the stomach, reflux, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.It helps to take the medication on a full stomach, but these effects may still occur.

Possible: As a dr., i can tell you prednisone, and steroids in general, have a definitive side effect of GI upset.  It is recommended to take steroids with food to decrease this adverse effect.

See rheumatologist: The bleeding ulcer is not the usual presentation for lupus.  In fact, prednisone may worsen it.  You need to talk to your rheumatologist to make sure that the medications you are taking are not causing the ulcer and then a GI consult may be in order since this may have nothing to do with your lupus.

can i drink alcohol while taking prednisone 5 mg? i don't take any other rx meds and it's a 6 day rx for prednisone, started today. no stomach issues.

Possibly: There should be no adverse interactions between alcohol and Prednisone.  However, I do not know the condition for which you are taking it.  I do wonder why you cannot wait six days to consume alcohol.

Yes...: but usually takes more than 2 days of treatment. Could aggravate prior issue, or be unrelsted. Talk to prescribing doc.
