i wore shoes that i have never worn before. they are flat with a little heel.i know have severe burning feet and pain. could those shoes be the cause of it and how is it that those shoes can cause these symptoms?

It could: If these shoes have thin, flexible soles they may not provide any support or cushioning for the feet. If you stand or walk a lot in them, this could be quite painful. Look for shoes that have more support and cushion. Make sure the shoes are not too narrow as well, as it can cause pain as well.  If it doesn't help, see a podiatrist.

Finding the cause: Burning in extremities is a sign of sick nerves (neuropathy). Several common causes include diabetes, thyroid disease, b12 (rarely before age 70), heavy metal poisoning (rare), toxicity from medications (DDI (didanosine) and other HIV medications... pretty common)&gt;

several of these are treatable conditions. Otherwise medications are the next best step.

Neuropathy heat: It is  likely related to barometric pressure. Barometric press drops when  hot (or humid) ,causing swelling, more pain( though usually worse in cold) . Also more likely to be dehydrated in the heat   with thicker blood and increasing concentration  of noxious factors  around  joints nerves leading to increased pain .

Usually nerve: "burning" is most commonly caused by a nerve, either mechanical, like a nerve compression in the foot, leg or lower back, or from a metabolic disease like diabetes or anemia.  If both feet burn, it's more likely metabolic, but if one foot burns, it's probably something local.  But if you smell smoke... Run!

seriously, go see a podiatrist if it's only one foot, or a neurologist if it's both.
