my 37 yr. old autistic daughter is saying she had purple blood during last period. not sexually active. normal? she has ibs and overactive bladder. pain around her belly button.

She : She was probably referring to dark colored blood, which is common during a period. It is a good ideas for her to see her family doctor or gynecologist for her annual well woman exam if not done so already. All gynecological issues can be addressed at that visit.

i have diverticulosis and ibs after my last colonoscopy i seem to be doing better. but then i had a flare up as in pain no fever and white blood cell count was only slightly elevated. all of a sudden i have a hard time peeing and bladder pain my urologist

IBS/ dysuria: Are testicles  tender? Would check U/A for infection and  even if relatively benign consider prostatitis . Also urologist can check for post void residual and ultrasound for hydronephrosis and stones f/u with doctor

Cystitis, prostatic: it is important to know the temporal relationship of these two groups of symptoms as well as duration of each group of symptoms.  In   several conditions one can have both bowel and lower urinary tract  symptoms, such as prostatitis,  prostatic abscess, psoas abscess, tumor, mass, parasites etc.,

UTI, GC and chlamydi: Dysuria, may be a sign of a regular uti, caused by bacteria like e. Coli. It may also be a sign of an std. Most common STDs causing dysuria and urethritis are gonorrhea, chlamydia and possible herpes. Swabs and urine testing can find the source for you.

Yes: Ebv can present in many odd ways beyond the classic presentation with sore throat, swollen glands, fevers and fatigue.  Ebv can affect virtually every organ system and can be associated with hepatitis, cholestasis, , pneumonia, pleural effusions, myocarditis, pancreatitis, mesenteric adenitis, , myosotis, acute renal failure and other urinary symptoms, and even genital ulcerations.

Treatments depend on the cause:  surgery, certain madications, and dietary habit changes.

Yes: Your GI tract &amp; urinary tract are very close to each other.  When there is a large volume of stool in the GI tract, it may put pressure on your bladder.  This can cause the bladder to not fill completely or empty when you don't want.  See your doctor if you are having these symptoms so you can work out a plan to treat both problems.

What problems: What kind of urinary problems have you experienced. Talk w/your doctor to see if they are related to androgel, which is unlikely. The other gels may or may not cause similar problems.
