Yes: Essure is the most effective method to insure you never have to worry about birth control ever again. Hopefully your doctor performed essure in their office and you should be able to return to all activities almost immediately.  Don't forget to use a back up method of contraception until you do your confirmation test to prove your tubes are blocked.  No issues with tampons.

Accepted Answer

Yes!: The essure coils are placed inside the fallopian tubes through direct visualization with a camera called a hysteroscope. Using a tampon appropriately should not interfere with the essure at all.
It might be prudent to avoid intravaginal manipulation, tampons, sex for the first 24-48 hours as good measure.

Wait: After any procedure, it is best to wait at least 1 cycle so that you do not help any bacteria that may be there to brew and multiply.

Yes: That is normal and can happen for a few days or weeks because of the insertion which is through the cervix and uterus into the fallopian tubes.  This causes bleeding.  Also the injection of the dye into the tubes can cause some bleeding and cramping.

Not a good idea: Unless you don't want to have any kids.

6 weeks: The uterus should return to normal size 6 weeks after childbirth.  That is the earliest i would normally do an essure.

Yes: The Essure stents are safe, non-hormonal , and provide excellent sterilization without the need for general anesthesia or surgical incisions. I would consider it healthy and a popular option for permanent sterilization. My patients love it and have no complaints. Most of the Hospital Nurses take advantage of this procedure since it's done easily in the office.

No: Not  reversable,  can be removed surgically, but tubes will not be  functional.
