Maybe: Does it itch if you don't wear tampons? If so, change brands and see if it makes a difference. Either way, change them every 4 hours at the most.

had irregular periods for about 2 years, just had a cycle of 59 days. period started 06/01/2023 was very light today 06/02/2023 very watery like with no clots bright red needing to wear super tampon and super pad will leak if not changed 2-3 hours?

: You just watch for this time and note of the duration. If heavy, prolonged period keeps recurring in the future then you should see a GYN doctor for help. You are at low risk for iron deficiency anemia because you probably have less than 8 periods a year so the about of blood loss is not high although with heavy menses. Good luck.

had baby in nov & went on paraguard in jan. having heavy bleeding. have to wear pad & tampon together. i have to change every hour or less. what's up?

The Parguard: Can make bleeding worse.  It sounds like it is your first period so i assume you are not breast feeding.  There is a medication called Lysteda that will decrease bleeding during menses.  You could get on the pill for a month and see if that improves it or wait it out.  It may not be as bad going foreward.

Physically, yes: Physically, a girl who has a menstrual period can use a pad or tampon. However, some girls are quite young (ages 10-12 years) when periods start, so they may not be comfortable inserting or removing a tampon (parental guidance and help is needed at first). Tampons can have complications if not changed often enough. Young girls may not be mentally mature enough to remember to change tampons often.

Pad - simpler: I don't believe there is a right or wrong answer to this. My own thought is that dealing with all the body changes that go with puberty & dealing with the first menstrual period is confusing enough without having to learn to insert a tampon. I think a pad is simpler to start out with.

Yes, if taking pills: If you are on the pill form of Metronidazole then you can use tampons.

If there is just a: small amount of clear discharge, removing a primarily dry tampon from your vagina may be uncomfortable and abrade delicate mucosa.

Yes, it's safe: if there are no indications of any problems and bleeding has been decreasing, it is fine to use a tampon after 1 week. Ask your doctor to make sure there are no other issues.
