Yes: As long as you follow recommendations on the box and don't combine the meds. So if each medicine allowed every 6 hours, you can take theraflu 3 times and NyQuil one time.  Do not double Tylenol (acetaminophen) which almost always a component of this pills, it can be toxic.

No for Nyquil: Yes for theraflu, as paxil would interact with an ingredient in Nyquil preparations called dextromethotphan, good luck

Accepted Answer

No: These OTC meds both contain a decongestant and acetaminophen. Taking both can be dangerous.

These OTC combination medications are not very effective 
and will not make you get better 1 day sooner than taking nothing.  Your best bet is to take Tylenol(acetaminophen) for pain or fever and a 12 hour nasal decongestant spray like Afrin for nasal congestion, follow the directions on label.

im on claritin (loratadine) d and flonase, but getting little relief/sleep. is it okay to also take either theraflu nightime sever cold and cough or nyquil coldflu?

Yes, but: Only take either, the theraflu or the nyquil, not both, and if you do, please drop the evening/night dose of the claritin (loratadine) d, till you see your doctor, read the labels carefully, might cause sedation, so don't drive or operate machinery, good luck

: Both of these medications contain acetaminophen and taking both at less than 6 hours apart, you risk overdosing on acetaminophen. Do not take more than 3-4 g of acetaminophen in one day and no alcohol while you are taking it.

i recently just took theraflu 30 mins ago and was wondering when could i take my nyquil how long am i supposed to wait?

: As long as you are not going over 1000mg of acetaminophen (tylenol) every 6hr, then you are ok to take the nyquil now. All of these cold/cough medicines usually come with a bit of acetaminophen (tylenol). So you want to make sure that you are not inadvertently going overboard with the acetaminophen which can have negative effects on the liver.

: There is a wide range of safe dosages in over the counter medications.  You may find you have more side effects than the desired effect of cold medicine.  We do not recommend any of these for children.

No: Consult your prescriber, but I believe Trazodone hangs around awhile in your system &amp; may interact w/some OTC meds.  Besides, I don't recommend the combination OTC cold meds bc they may contain unnecessary, &amp; even dangerous, ingredients.  For thick mucous, use plain guafenisin.  For allergies, use otc certrizine.  For runny nose that  clear mucous, if no HTN, phenylephrine or sudafed
