It's ok.: Only take as recommended and nothing more. You should expect that tomorrow you will have excess daytime drowsiness.

Med combo: You need to be careful about being overly sedated ( drowsy, unable to drive or operate heavy machinery etc)... Especially with a neurontin / Benadryl (diphenhydramine) combo... Make sure your prescribing doc is informed about your addition of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) / NyQuil BEFORE you implement this change !

Possible: Although most people would not get noticeable drowsiness from 100 mg, the tolerance varies greatly among people.  Nyquil will add to the drowsiness.  Believe it is best for you to wait till the weekend to try the combination .

Yes, it is safe: Granted, Gabapentin does cause drowsiness, dizziness, and weight gain, which some anti-depressants cause, and the two together might make some of this worse, but Gabapentin has virtually no drug-drug interaction potential, and should really be very safe, if tolerated well.

Necessary vs safe: This is not an easy  (safe) drug to take for any time and it may require more and more to be effective - BUT it may be necessary. Discuss this in depth w/ your Dr and keep them closely informed of how you are doing. Always seek to evaluate as many non-drug treatments as possible. Best!

It is used for mood: Disorders but i find it is sometimes a bit weak as a solo agent for bipolar spectrum disorders.
