Yes: Irregular bleeding is not an uncommon occurrence after pregnancy, especially if  breastfeeding is involved.  With the micronor (norethindrone) (progesterone only pill) your bleeding should decrease in amount and duration.

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time)  is very common on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time.  If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen  then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working.

my periods are prolonged and im obese. my doctor wants me to take norethindrone 5mg to stop the bleeding for 3 weeks a month and one week off for a few months while i lose weight. does norethindrone increase blood clot risk ?

Obesity greater risk: For your doctor wanted to take this medications to decrease the lining in the uterus . You probably have PCOS which is causing a regular for you. And at times heavy bleeding you also need to decrease your weight as your weight is actually causing you an increased risk from blood clots

started micronor last week & i feel like i got hit by a pms truck. i'm an emotional disaster. how long does this last?? hx of pe; can't take reg. ocps. tried iud and it had 2 be removed after 1wk- was malpositioned. taking them for heavy bleeding.

Pills and mood: Some women taking oral contraceptives do experience mood changes especially women with a history of depression or PMS or pre or post partum mood disorder or women with vitamin B6 deficiency. 
Also less progesterone in a pill tends to cause more mood changes.

been taking norethindrone to control heavy bleeding for 2 years, i have pcos. it makes my pcos symptoms worse (facial hair etc) but helps with bleeding. i would like to switch to cyclic prometrium 100mg. should i transition?

: Why not switch to a combined ocp ? 
As long as you don’t have contraindications to YAZ it has potential anti-androgenic (anti-male hormone) effects that can help with the secondary PCOS symptoms

Bleeding: is the result of the hormonal therapy: should end 7-10 days after stopping the Norethedrone.

i took the last of 10 provera (medroxyprogesterone) 5mg to stop heavy bleeding a week ago. i'm now on day 2 of heavy bleeding (little clotting, bright red) is this normal?

No: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person.  He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.

Excessive bleeding: Since her doctor has prescribed medical therapy for excessive bleeding and the IUD is in place, I would recommend she see her women's health doctor for more definitive treatment. as soon as possible.

: Once the bleeding is stopped by the medication , the blood is retained within your circulatory system instead of being lost which is beneficial and helps to prevent anemia.

i am experiencing prolonged periods. my doctor put me on norethindrone for ten days it stopped and came back heavier. she discussed combination birth control l. if i take that will it stop the bleeding im experiencing now or take time . i have pcos?

: With PCOS, you should take combination oral contraceptive for regulating menstrual abnormalities and it will help other symptoms of PCOS due to hyperandrogenemia (high male hormone).
