Maybe (not) . . .: Good news: I couldn&#x27;t find any drug-drug interaction btwn L-glutamine, Lisinopril &amp; Atenolol (http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.php?drug_list=273-0,3011-0,1476-0). Even better news: I couldn&#x27;t find any reason not to take glutamine in those w/high blood pressure (http://www.drugs.com/mtm/glutamine.html). Still, it&#x27;s best to monitor BP for several wks before starting glutamine. Then recheck BP

If : If you feel fatigue, which is what i assume you meant by your statement, then this calls for investigation. Your blood pressure may actually be too low. Do you have a blood pressure monitor? I would start there. If you don't you should follow up with your doctor to investigate why you are feeling this way.

What are your vitals: If you have been on Atenolol for a year - it is unlikely to cause you any weakness. 25 mg is a small dose. Have you check your heart rate( pulse) and blood pressure?

: Absolutely, providing there are no medical contraindications. It's not an unusual combination. Atenolol is a beta blocker which lowers BP by slowing heart rate&amp;reducing the force of heart muscle contraction. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker which works by dilating the arterioles throughout the body thereby reducing the pressure against which the heart contracts.

my mother (67) has high blood pressure and takes atenolol daily as prescribed by doctor. last days her blood pressure is increasing significantly. she drank horsetail tea and now she is very tired and blood pressure 108/65. can these both be mixed?

: I'm not a fan of beta blockers as first line medication for hypertension unless the patient tends to have coronary artery disease or overactive sympathetic nervous system with rapid heart rate,etc. Fatigue is a big issue for some people on beta blockers like atenolol. The options are either reducing the dose or weaning off atenolol &amp; starting an ACE inhibitor,an ARB or calcium channel blocker

Hypertension: Most people who have hypertension or high blood pressure have no known cause aside from obesity &amp; excess salt. Yes, some medications can raise blood pressure. Yes: You can make the switch abruptly but must only do so on the advice of your physician.  Your doctor will be able to choose the appropriate dose of labetalol to switch to based on your current atenolol dose and BP control and needs.  Good luck!!

BETA BLOCKERS: Fatigue and slow pulse are the main issues with beta blockers like tenormin (atenolol). They also can cause or worsen reflux and erection issues.
