i have really bad insomnia. i took trazodone and it hasnt helped, so i tried a sleep 3 supplement with ashwaghanda, melatonin and gaba in it. still cant sleep. can i try benadryl? im so tired?

: This concern is beyond the ability to address well using this forum. Much more details are needed  You need to speak to your doctor. Most likely , you are sleeping at least a little bit, so do you take a long time to fall asleep, or are you feeling sad? , Do you snore?

Possible interaction: Per drugs. Com there is potential for a moderate interaction:  “using Alprazolam together with trazodone may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment.” however, if you are taking it at bedtime (and not using alcohol) you will most likely do fine.

You may: There is additive effect of sedation other wise  there is low level drug drug interaction between Zanaflex (tizanidine) and trazodone, but overall safe.

Not recommended: There is only one drug interactions between these 2 medications. However, hydrocodone and trazodone both increase sedation and drowsiness. Rec.: consult with your prescribing physician for more information.

Quick and slower: To help you get to sleep, should work that night.  To help you stay asleep, will take longer.  Sleep initiation has more to do with relaxing the mind.  Staying asleep has more to do with chronic worry and/or chronic problems that need to be fixed (manifestations of which may include anxiety or depression).
