Yes: Clonidine hs been shown to be effective at decreasing withdrawal effects from opioid dependence. However, if you are being placed on Suboxone then perhaps you will not need the clonidine since you are replacing one opioid for another.

Talk to your doctor : The answer to your question is "yes" you can take clonidine to alleviate opiate withdrawal symptoms precipiated by Suboxone.  You can also take additional comfort medications such as Motrin, Bentyl, (dicyclomine) and Immodium for muscle aches, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea respectively.  Hope this information helps.

SideEffectsClonidine: You should have asked this question from the doctor who is tapering down your suboxone.We do not have all the information .This is not unusual to prescribe clonidine and depending on the dose it can lower your blood pressure.iIt can also cause dry mouth,dizziness,sedation,constipation,troble sleeping,tiredness and headache.But it is well tolerated by most of the patients.Discuss your case with MD

If...: If you feel extremely anxious there are other things they might treat you with. Vistaril (hydroxyzine) can be effective as well but you still would need to ask your prescriber what is their medication of preference when clonidine is not enough.

Talk to your doctor : You need close medical supervision if on this combination of medication. Sedation and respiratory suppression are the main concerns. Don't do it alone. Seek medically supervised detox.

i am prescribed suboxone, clonidine, ibuprofen 600, methocarbynol trying to get custody of my kids and i took a drug test for dcyf and she said it was positive for codeine would these cause a false positive for codeine? i told her no way?

: Many common meds can cause a false positive for Opiates. these include: Dextromethorphan (cough syrup), Diphenhydramine (benadryl), Doxylamine (sleep aids), Tramadol (Ultram- pain reliever), Quietapine (seroquel- antidepressant), Levofloxacin/Ofloxacin (antibiotics). Your next step should be to have a confirmatory blood test which is more specific for each med.

Yes, indeed!: Did one physician prescribe all of these? If so - you need to consider another provider. If not, you need always to inform any one of them about other drugs you take. All have some risk with just about all of the others, but the worst is between Xanax (alprazolam) and Suboxone. Respiratory distress is possible even coma or death - so call your doctor(s) ASAP or go to ER or a good pharmacist w/ the bottles.

Take as prescribed: Clonidine pills should be taken 2 to 4 times daily. If bottle says twice daily take one in morning and one in evening.
