Cat bite: Cat bites get infected more often than not.  The bacteria in cat's' mouths and their needle-like teeth almost insure that the bite will become infected.  Just because your husband had C. diff doesn't necessarily mean that you will get it. My advice is to call the doctor who prescribed the Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) and tell him or her your concerns.  Best wishes.

Yes : Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) is a good, broad spectrum antibiotic for sinus infection- it is Amoxicillin and clavulanate which helps prevent resistant infections.  You could use a decongestant (and or antihistimine) over the counter to help with symptoms (can be used at the same time).

: You can take probiotic which may alleviate the chance of C. diff colitis due to prolonged antibiotics. Probiotic does not promote the healing. You do not need it for nutritional support. Your are hungry which is a good sign so you just eat whatever you like because you are still young.

Yes: If the antibiotic was prescribed for a bacterial URI and there is associated congestion  then decongestants are certainly ok and recommended for symptom control.  I assume you are not allergic to any "cold" pills and don't have significant cardiac disease.  If so consult your doctor before taking.

Yes: Yes go right ahead. Just don't take them at the same time. Take your Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) first and wait an hour.There is no interaction noted but both are know to possibly cause stomach irritation. Good luck.
