Gagging: You should see a gastroenterologist and probably get an upper endoscopy to see what is wrong with your stomach or esophagus.

Tylenol (acetaminophen): extra strenght. Can take upto 3000mg in divided doses a day.Consider Omeprazole and treatment for H pylori if positive. Avoid NSAIDs

Meds: The most likely thing would be heartburn, an upset stomach or stomach pain.

Migraine: You can take it but both of them are same class of medications and sometimes that can irritate stomach. Tylenol can also be taken with ibuprofen.

have costochondritis after bad cold. told to take 400mg ibuprofen 3x day. is it ok if i have acid reflux? how long do i take it?

Try adding: an Antacid such as Pepcid (famotidine) or Prilosec  and with meals. I suggest taking it for 2-3 days only. Please see you provider  if you're not better.

Dyspepsia: Yes you can take your Zantac (ranitidine) and should since any NSAID can cause GI upset and dyspepsia. There is actually and combination medication that will help protect your stomach

Depends: You do not specify the dose of ibuprofen.  As the half-life of mefanamic acid is two hours, it would take 10 hours to eliminate the mefanamic acid "completely."  if the dose of Ibuprofen is only 200 mg, then, it may be safe (assuming you do not have liver or renal disease).

i took mefenamic acid 4 hrs ago for my toothache but it didn't help, is it okay to take ibuprofen instead?

Wait: It is not unusual that the first dose of a pain medication will not provide adequate pain relief. A therapeutic blood level must be reached before it is effective which could take 2-3 doses. Since you are due to take another dose 6 hours after your first dose, I would suggest trying to wait until then and giving it a chance to work. You don't want to prematurely jump from one pain med to another.

is it ok to take both mefenamic acid and ibuprofen at the same time for toothache? i took mefenamic 30 minutes ago but the pain is still here.

NSAIDs: Both meds are NSAIDs, and taking both may potentiate each other.  Be careful not to exceed maximum dosages on package labels.  Toothache usually signifies infection, and pain killers will not cure infected teeth.  Neither will antibiotics that will control spread of infection, but not cure.  Important that you see your Dentist for immediate treatment.

Family practice: Try to find a cause for your back pain  muscle relaxants , heat, therapy may help.  Check with your dr.
