Not really: We do not bleach penises or scrota because penises and scrota are normally supposed to be darker skin areas, compared wto a guy's main skin color. Therefore, bleaching the normally darker areas would make them abnormally lightened. If a person thinks there is some sort of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that is making the darker skin abnormally extra dark, one's dermatologist can evaluate.

Hyperpigmentation: Likely it will fade out with time. By now you know that hydroquinone should not be used again. See a dermatologist if it does not get better in few weeks.

Twice a day...: ...until the dark spots disappear. The only long-term side effect, if used too often or too long, is lightening of the skin. Paradoxical darkening of the skin has also been reported, but that's with higher strengths of hydroquinone.

I would make appt: to see dermatologist. Hydroquinone itself is typically not that irritating but the active acid combined with it is. I would show concerned areas to dermatologist and get appropriate treatment for condition

Stop...: You are likely getting more irritation from the cream then you are actually getting benefit - hydroquinone cream rarely makes a big difference on freckles.  My suggestion - stop using the cream to allow your skin to heal, wear sunscreen regularly, AND embrace your freckles as part of who you are and beautiful.

Hydroquinone: No serious side effects have been reported for this topical medication. Side effects when using the medication include: dryness, redness, fissuring, burning, irritation and a contact dermatitis. I rarely see side effects with this medication.

Dark skin: No.  Don't even think about this concept.  There are pigment lighteners for selected areas, but the use of the most powerful one of these is limited to the care of very, very skilled dermatologists.  Don't go down that hazardous road.

hydroquinone use: There is no real definitive no don't use it or yes it is ok, but if you are pregnant you need to communicate your concerns to your ob/gyn dr.
