Beta Blocker: Try Bystolic (nebivolol).  It is a beta blocker with alpha blocker properties.  It helps lower BP and reduce risk of cardiac events.

Out of context: For a 22 year old?  No one in American medicine even recommends cholesterol testing for someone in their 20s. Second, cholesterol is a panel, not one test.  Your question does not reference the panel. Thus interpretation is impossible.

Total risk: It's not wise to treat lab abnormalities in a vacuum. If your total cardiac risk exceeds 7.5% ten year risk, or if you have established vascular disease, a statin is advised (2013 Adult Treatment Panel guidelines, American Heart Assoc) since they've been shown repeatedly to lower risk while supplements and non-statin meds are either ineffective or minimally so.

Hdl: Actually an Hdl of 40 is pretty good . We don't have great drugs to raise Hdl .Exercise and moderate alcohol consumption (2-3oz/day) can help raise Hdl

HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) and glucose: I would have your physician check your hemoglobin a1c to see if you have any diabetes while taking. Hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) (h). Another option is a diuretic called chlorthiadone (c), which does not raise glucose (g) levels. At age 59, you may have some chronic kidney disease (ckd) which would make both h and c ineffective. Ask your doctor if you have CKD and could be put on Furosemide alone, as it does not raise g.

No: There is no reason to believe that hydrochlorothiazide helps treat hydroceles.  If a patient has scrotal edeam due to fluid overload, then a diuretic such as hydrochlorothiazide may help improve the condition by removing extra fluid from the patient.
