Treating: Glaucoma can be controlled with therapy in that the rate of vision loss is slowed so that there is no significant vision change in a person's lifetime.  Secondary glaucomas can be prevented if the underlying diseases such as neovascular glaucoma due to diabetes, avoiding trauma (traumatic glaucoma), etc. Are controlled.

See Ophthalmologist: Glaucoma is pressure in your eye above a normal level and can permanently damage your vision.  It is usually not painful (chronic open angle glaucoma) but can be with closed angle glaucoma.  See an Ophthalmologist for an exam to diagnose and treat correctly.

Yes: Treatment prevents progression in most cases.  Suspected glaucoma can be safely watched to make sure it does progress.

Glaucoma : Glaucoma is generally defined as optic nerve damage (from high eye pressure or other causes), which can lead to changes and decreases in vision (the visual field of vision).  Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness.

Wrong assumption: Green tea has been promoted as a palliative, even a cure, for multiple disease states.  There is no evidence for its effectiveness in any of these conditions.  That includes glaucoma.  So a false assumption, that it can prevent glaucoma, then becomes expanded into - herbal teas and anything containing antioxidants as a curative.  All of these need clinical testing; so far none are cures.
