i have bph and flomax (tamsulosin) has been working find for over 2 years. cialis has been approved for bph, is it as good as flomax (tamsulosin) even though i don't have ed?

Same groups: You listed alpha blocker(flomax or tamsulosin),5-alpha reductase inhibitor(finasteride,dutasteride or avodart),combination of both groups(Jalyn)and PDE5 inhibitor(cialis).Any other drugs I give you will be in those groups.If none has helped you,talk to your urologist about TUR prostate or other surgical options.TUR is the "gold standard" with which other surgical options are compared.Good luck.

No: Cialis has been shown to help both issues-ed and oab. Am not sure that it works for everyone.

husband diagnosed w/a slightly swollen prostate,had been on flomax from his gp, but urologist suggested alfuzosin,husband found flomax worked better,whats the difference,is one better?why would urologist want to add cialis,he has no erectile problems?

: Alfuzosin &amp; Flomax are both 5-alphapreductase inhibitors &amp; work in the same way by relaxing smooth muscle in prostate &amp; bladder neck thus urinary flow &amp; frequency improve. Stay on Flomax if it works better. Cialis acts in similar way as well as being used for erectile problems. Thus, advise resume Flomax. Finasteride together + Flomax is better &amp; much cheaper than Cialis. Saw Palmetto is no good.

It is indicated for: The 5mg dose works as Cialis daily for ed, but has recently received an indication of symptoms of bph.  Flomax (tamsulosin) usually not have a major effect on sex drive, as does finasteride, but occasionaly can.  The cialss 5mg/daily use is a great alternative.  You must see your dr. To get an rx, and make sure other meds or issues, do not make it inappropriate  for you!

: Icariin, the main ingredient of horny goat weed, and cialis have the same therapeutic mechanism which inhibits the activity of the PDE5 that’s blocking dilation of the arteries in the penis; however, we could not scientifically assess the supplement's strength so using both together may potentiate side effects. To be safe, you should use cialis with adjusted dose (5 to 20 mg) for a desired effect.

Drug interaction: There is no interaction between Cialis and fentanyl patch.

May need higher dose: The drugs work the same way. Viagra (sildenafil) works and wears off quickly.  Cialis has longer effect and is approved for daily use to be ready for sex all the time.  Talk to your doctor about higher dose of either one alone.  If you prefer to take when needed use Viagra (sildenafil).  If you want to be ready without having to stop and take med use Cialis.  If this doesn't work taking both may be OK if no side effects.
