Hard to say: If you are also having other symptoms (fevers, chills, nightsweats, weight loss) you should have a full physical examination.  Sometimes it is necessary to remove a small amount of the lymph node to make sure there aren't any other problems like a smoldering infection or lymphoma.

Check antibodies: Glandular fever is "mono", an illness caused by EBV virus. Most people eventually catch EBV, beginning from childhood. The illness is milder when one catches it early in life. So, if a person has gotten it one time, he can have his 4 antibodies checked. If he has antibodies, he will not get sick from another person's EBV infection. EBV is very common, and there is no vaccine, so is hard to avoid.

Chiro's have NOTHING to offer for infectious disease. An office visit with a screening test for strep is needed. Treatment if any will depend on prudent evaluation of the condition.

GLANDULAR FEVER: Other name: infectious mononucleosis/ mono, caused by epstein-barr virus. Human are only reservoir. Transmission: from saliva by close contact/ kissing; from blood transfusion.
Recovery by 2-4 wks. Fatigue, malaise may wax and wane for wks to months. U can shed virus more than 6 mo. Then intermittently. Go  back to work when better, start slowly, avoid contact sports/pe  until full recovery.

Depends on immune sy: How long it takes mononucleosis  or glandular period to go away depends on your immune system and varies from person to person.
Some people feel better in days, some weeks and others it may take months.I will say if you have to take an average caase it may be4 to 6 weeks before all symptoms are gone but it is not the rule.
