Yes: Beets can cause the water around the stool to be reddish in color. And the same for the urine. Usually it has a bit more of a purplish cast than blood.

Sure: Anything with red dyes or naturally red can cause redness in your stool until all of the material passes through your intestines.  How long it takes depends on the transit time of your particular body.  I would think in most cases 1-3 days.

Lots...: The color of stool varies with foods, speed of emptying of the GI tract, medications &amp; supplements ingested, gut flora (unique for each individual), additives (like blood), subtractions (like absent bile), infection, inflammation, &amp; other factors. Consider what you ate in the prior few days, but if a reddish color of your stool persists or is accompanied by other symptoms, see your doctor.

Inflammation : Bowel prep does not usually cause that , however it is possible.Crohns would cause you more severe symptoms and if it's was   the prep I would think that the inflammation would disappear after completing the procedure. Good Luck

Causes of bleeding may be predictable (e.G rectal trauma), &amp; worsened by your thrombocytopenia, A rule of thumb (but not absolute): black stool means bleeding comes from upper GI tract; grape jelly stool from small bowel; silver stool from biliary tree; burgundy stool from right colon; red blood from left colon to anus.

 You might try stopping the berries and see if the red color disappears . However ,   if it persists , I would advise getting evaluated for blood in the stool , which can arise from various causes.

I do not know: the answer to your question, but you must have eaten a bunch of beets.  There is no need to worry.  Your body is still just excreting the pigment called betanin.  Some people like you and me can not break this pigment down and this results in excretion of the pigment in stool and urine. How fast it passes depends on how fast you pass feces and also on the amount of fluids you drink.
