Alcohol: Alcohol alters nerve conduction by occupying the GABA receptor in the brain. Tingling can sometimes occur. If it is on both sides, that is the likely cause. If you want to avoid it in the future, avoid alcohol. If you develop weakness of arm or leg on one side, slurred speech, or other concerning symptoms, go to the ER. Hope this helps!

Yes: Although the damage is microscopic.  Whether you binge drink or not alcohol does have a degree of toacicity and damage to your brain.

Not routinely: Alcohol-induced brain damage can be detected with various tests of cognition and executive functioning that may be more sensitive than routine MRI. See your physician for a full discussion and evaluation. No: Although "binge" drinking can damage your brain and your heart too it is unlikely to cause any significant problems with one episode.  Keep it up for a few years and then you will see some changes!

Robust work-up: It could be a number of things and requires further attention.  To work it up more fully, you doctor would need to know WHY you had the MRI in the first place.  Were you having symptoms?  Was their trauma?  Is there a genetic disease in the family?  One would need to know more specifically what the spots looked like.  You may need blood and spinal fluid tests to evaluate for MS.

Not necessarily : They could be non specific and of little importance  Are there any symptoms and what was the reason for doing an MRI in the first place  To be certain see a neurologist

Probably not.: Those substances have little in common other than being considered 'bad' by some people.  Medical cannabis is thought to be very helpful for cancer patients in many ways. I've not heard of alcohol's benefits, if any, but no problems either. Relax. Consider asking the oncologist involved for an opinion. Best!

: Typically, the Doctor who ordered the tests will be the one to review them and discuss any findings. Based on what the currently ordered tests say, the doctor may choose to order more tests or pursue a different diagnosis for your original symptoms.

Need further Eval: Ocular migraines are a diagnosis of exclusion--by which I mean that there cannot be another explanation for the changes in vision reported.  I am concerned about your subcortical changes on MRI and numbness, which could be the result of another neurologic diagnosis such as MS.  Please strongly consider an evaluation with a neurologist sooner rather than later....  Take care and stay healthy!
