Rash: If you are getting rash from the doxy, despite Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) contact the prescriber immediately just so he is aware. You two can develop a plan regarding when to stop the drug. Go to ER if pain worsens, fatigue slides into exhaustion, or the rash increases over the surface area of your body or gets more severe. Given your h/o melanoma ?stage/?grade &amp; fatigue, have lower threshold for working up back.

Yes - SEs of doxy: Doxycycline CAN cause fatigue, although usually this is less than 1% incidence. I would want to know also if you have any yellowing of the eyes or other symptoms... You should let the prescribing doctor know about this-sometimes they need to check blood work to make sure it is nothing serious (like a liver problem, or a blood problem like anemia). It's always good to be proactive about your health

Not normal: Severe pain, normal?  Chronic pid isn't normal by any means.  Your doctor may not be treating you with medication that is working.  It's possible you have an infection other than one that responds to doxycycline. There are definitely bacteria and mycoplasms out there that are not going to get better with doxy.  Consider seeing a different obgyn, an id doctor, or at university, one with id ob/gyn.

: 'suspected'  sinus infection is vague and short duration of the med will not cause fatigue. Your MD has to check you and do appropriate tests to check for sinus problem if present and other causes of fatigue. Hope you feel better

Stop the doxy: If you think it is the doxy, then stopping it for a week or 10 days makes sense (and if everything clears consider trying it a second time just to be sure). Doxycycline can cause esophagus and stomach irritation (the chest tightness and stomach pain) and worry about what is wrong, the fatigue.

diagnosed with eosinophillic folliculitis by dermatologist.(skin sample). doxycycline didn't work. i do have neck lymphadenopaty with pain, occasional fatigue, other skin changes. hiv is negative by pcr/agab (9mo). what can cause this apart from hiv?
