May not be necessary: Sinus infections are overwhelmingly viral and usually only require supportive care with over the counter medications, nasal steroid spray, or saline nasal spray. Antibiotics are usually only necessary for prolonged symptoms (greater than 2 weeks), severe infections including those with high fever, or if you get better and then sick again.

Check with doctor: Each immunosuppressive drug has its own drug interaction profile and thus you will need to check with your doctor re. such interaction. I am more concerned about doxycycline slowing down the breakdown of the immunosuppressive agent than vice versa.

Yeastie beasties: Our mucous membranes (lining mouth, gut, vagina) are covered with bacteria and yeast.  The colony of microbes is called a microbiome and it is balanced so that we stay well.  Antibiotics kill off not only infection causing bacteria but our good bacteria as well and this allows the yeast to overgrow.  Doxycycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic and is highly associated with yeast overgrowth.
