Find a vein: It is unusual for professionals providing medical care, to be unable to find a vein for an iv.  When necessary, alternate veins such as the jugular vein are used.

Simple: Diabetes is a blood vessel disease. It leads to the aging of all blood vessels of the body. In the kidneys it primarily involves the small blood vessels, capillaries, leading into the filtering units and causing drop out of these units. Usually every kidney has about a million units. As these start to drop out over the years the kidney function deteriorates. Bigger vessels are not exempt either.

hi, my brother had optic entities in both eyes. 1 is about 80% blind other about 20%. just recent, the eye doc told him his 20% eye small vessels is bleeding in the back. what can be causing this? he has diabetes, but made sure its controlled now?

: Unclear to me what you mean by "optic entities".  Sounds like he has retinal damage, which can occur unfortunately with diabetic retinopathy.  Certainly, less common disorders could be co-morbidities.  This is a situation that may require a retinal specialist, and perhaps help at a local medical school Eye Dept.  ?if laser therapy might help?

Secondary damage: High Blood Glucose can damage the small vessels leading to the nerves. If the nerves are not receiving proper nutrients, they begin to die off. Maintaining a consistently low blood glucose prevents this from happening not only to the nerves, but also to the eye cells, kidney cells and other organ systems.

i have been on pristiq for 15 years. tried to get off it twice but couldnt. recent studies show increased stroke risk, -narrowed blood vessels and increased risk for diabetes. is it safe to keep taking? i am 68 ?

: Side effects you mention are extremely rare. It’s always good to research on your own but talk to your psychiatrist. Keep in mind there is no medication without side effects and not treating your disorder also carries a risk.

See below: Noticeable blue veins can be very normal. Veins can travel close to the surface of the skin and the color that they appear (bluish or brown) depends on a persons skin tone - people with light skin often have 'bluer' appearing veins. The darker the skin, the darker the veins look.
