No: The membrane that covered the white part of the eye extends up under the eyelid and then returns down as the inner lining of the eyelid.  As such it creates a pocket up under the lid that will prevent a contact lens from going behind your eye.  A contact lens can get stuck up in this fornix but it can be removed.

Impossible: Contact lenses cannot get behind eyes.  They can get stuck under the upper lid.  Try flushing your eyes with a stream of water or eye wash.  If this fails to dislodge the contact lens, then see your eye doctor.

No: The conjunctiva (the membrane that covers the eye) forms a continuous layer with the inside of the eyelid called the septum. This makes it impossible for a foreign object to get behind the septum to the back of the eyeball.

Accepted Answer

Irritation: Your eyes water when they are irritated. If they are being caused by the contacts, see your eye specialist as there may be other options to try that won't irritate your eyes as much.

Trial and error: If you do not know, put them in and check your vision.  If it is not clear,  reverse them and try again.

Most contacts have no identifying marks on them.

i'm just wondering, if you have bad eyes can you skip glasses and go straight into contact lenses?

Not recommended: Even if you choose to use contact lenses as your primary means of correcting your vision, you need to have a pair of glasses as well.  This is because there are situations in which you cannot wear your contacts, and you must have a back-up.  The glasses do not need to be new or even the best prescription, but usable so you can safely drive and work.

Depends, but mostly: On factors such as cleanliness, duration and frequency of use.  Infection and  allergic conjunctivitis can occur and are more likely if the lenses aren't taken care of properly or are over worn.  So, they can be bad for the eyes if an infection develops.  Hard contact lenses can temporarily change the shape of the cornea.  Best to see a good eye specialist.

contact lenses moves in my eyes, why is this?

Accepted Answer

2 possibilities: Some movement of contact lenses is normal and desirable.  Too much movement causes blurred vision and discomfort.  Your eye doctor can evaluate whether the amount of movement is okay or if you need a different contact lens.
