Lots: Lots of meds can cause constipation, either by slowing transit time, increasing water extraction from bowel, both mechs, or other.  Can include narcotics, calcium channel blockers for BP and heart conditions, calcium supp, other 
fiber stimulates bms by increasing water in the bowel, making for a bigger, bulkier, softer stool;  increases the stretch and then the contractions of the bowel.

Possibly: Some of the supplements have quite a bit of fiber ( a good thing). Of course, vigorous exercise usually promotes a healthy bowel habit, too.

Doctors can check: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, water, fiber with water, prune juice, prunes, polyethylene glycol, Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, other laxatives... A doctor can evaluate to check for anything serious.

Depends: Why are you on the program?  I recommend a 1:1 dosage--i.e., equal amounts of calcium and magnesium.  The dosage is determined by your bowel tolerance--i.e., the dosage that gives you diarrhea or loose stools.  Just reduce the dosage to what is comfortable for you.  Excess calcium impairs magnesium absorption--and inadequate magnesium impairs calcium absorption.

Dental plaque: Taking calcium/magnesium  supplements does not cause plague build up on teeth. Moreover, magnesium forms the hard enamel that resists decay.

Calcium-yes: Magnesium competes with calcium for absorption and can cause a calcium deficiency if calcium levels are already low

Constipation: depends on the dose, I would talk to his doctor to see.  Also, you can push fluids, peaches, pears or prunes. Either eating the fruit or drinking the juice.

Magnesium sulphate: It takes about 45 minutes to2to3 hours for it to start working, if it has been that long then you can drink more.It will work and you will go to bathroom again and again till your bowels are cleaned.
