If excessive cough: I would say that if you are coughing alot, then you could cause back and chest pain. When you cough for extended periods of time, the respiratiory muscles that are used in respiration are involved in the cough reflex.  Bronchitis, is caused by inflamation of the bronchi and sometime virsus. You may have bronchospasm and excess mucus. A postbronchitis syndrome can produce cough that last months.

No,: bronchitis won't cause lung nodules.  Did the radiologist reading the second chest X-ray have the first to compare with?  Just comparing reports is not adequate.  If it really is new, chest CT to characterize the nodule and look for additional nodules would be next.

Inflammation: The tissues lining the bronchi (tubes leading from the trachea into the lung in smaller and smaller radicals) are grossly inflamed by the infection, or if caused by toxic materials by them, and pain is one of the cardinal signs of inflammation. When you cough you place pressure on inflamed tissues and therefore ......................... OK?

Other conditions: Asthma, reflux, and allergies can all cause those symptoms and would not show up on a chest X-ray.

: May be. Any inflammation, especially pneumonia can elevate D-dimer. This test is more useful for excluding venous thrombosis than making the diagnosis.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Need more info: If you have had these symptoms for more than a few weeks, you may have allergy to something in the air in your environment. You may try over the counter anti-histaminic. Make sure that you are not drowsy and do not drive or engage in other activity till you have tried the medication for a couple of days. If that does not help, see an ENT doctor.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

my son 10 yrs old have acute asthma and developed bronchitis. he's complaining about his chest that feels like razors and he got a nose bleed. he's on cortisone. can the meds cause nose bleed and should i be worried about his chest?
