Laryngitis: The major cause of laryngitis is viral infection, but this can also be due to allergic reactions, as can cough. In phoenix you might be concerned with the possibility of coccidiodomycosis (desert fever), and a visit to a local doctor would not be a bad idea.

Vocal cord disease: If by 'laryngitis' you mean 'loss of voice or hoarseness' then you may have a vocal cord/larynx problem. The possible diagnoses are: vocal nodule, polyp, ge -reflux or tumor.  You need to see an ENT (ear-nose-throat) doctor to get evaluated.  The ENT  can pass a small scope down to the vocal cords to get the correct diagnosis.  If you are a smoker, this is a good time to quit. Hope you are better!

i have laryngitis brought on by allergies, strep test was neg.i have an endoscopy set for thurs.can they still do it w/the laryngitis?

Call and ask: Call and cask to be sure, but i think they still would be able to do the procedure.  Laryngitis is likely just some irritation and shouldn't affect the airway.

i had laryngitis for 10 days and a uri complicated with allergies. i'm suppose to have an endoscopy. how many weeks do i need wait after these symptoms are over to schedule the endoscopy?

Endoscopy: As long as symptoms are resolving and you are not having breathing problems there should be no reason to delay endoscopy.

Need examination: Saline might be soothing, so continue. Not sure it shortens the illness. Tough call on the Flovent; it reliably causes hoarseness at high doses directly and indirectly (favoring yeast/oral Candidiasis), yet can help associated asthmatic bronchitis. Prob wouldn't make allergies worse; could that be post-nasal drip from laryngitis? Absess? GERD?What about strep? Better get checked out.

After : After 2 weeks without any other symptoms, you may want to look into other reasons for your laryngitis.

There are number functional and anatomical problems that can cause prolonged laryngitis such as:
- otherwise silent reflux related changes, 
- vocal fold hemorrhage (broken blood vessels), 
- muscle tension dysphonia, 
- benign or malignant growths (especially if you are a smoker)

these can be diagnosed via a laryngoscopic exam performed by an otolaryngologist otherwise known as an ear nose and throat doctor.  If your laryngitis persists, you may want to have your doctor recommend a specialist who has the tools to complete a more thorough exam.

for my throat, nasal, and cough i take an allergy liquid cap and it seems to help. had laryngitis fromfrom inhaling smoke from a burn barrel. this ok?

Effect only short!: Good evening, 
laryngeal irritation from inhaling smoke, especially a large one, is a sort of expected reaction. It is not necessarily an allergic reaction; rather an irritant reaction. As the medications are helping, i would stay with the course. Usually it will get better in a few days.

See your doc: Reoccurring laryngitis is suspicious for chronic post nasal drip or allergies.   Also asthma can do this as well as chronic esophageal reflux.   Go see your doctor.   You might need an ENT consult to check your throat out.
