: They may. It depends on the allergen exposure

Accepted Answer

No : allergies usually involve BOTH eyes!!   However eyelid swelling is much more commonly associated with BLEPHARITIS ( an infection of the lid) and local antibiotics and soaking (using an "eyecup") may be indicated. (This is a LOT more common than PTOSIS!)

Unusual: Allergic conjunctivitis typically will effect both eyes because the allergens that trigger this response are airborne.

Both: Allergic conjunctivitis is typically the result of airborne allergen impacting the eye and causing symptoms. B/c the allergen is airborne it will "hit" both eyes. It is distinctly unusual for one eye to be effected.

No: You cannot transmit an allergy (unless you have gone transfusion -even then it is transient).   The development of allergy is considered to be one whereby one's genes and the environment interact. If one or both of your parents are allergic, your risk of developing allergic diseases would be much higher

Probably floaters: Doctors refer to floaters in different ways, and this is most likely a reference to floaters. A floater is basically debris caught up in the vitreous of the eye, which you might see moving around in your vision. These are seen when the eyes are dilated. If the retina is healthy then they are not much to worry about. If there is any be change in vision, though, get the eyes checked again.

my 14 mon old rubs her eyes a lot due to few food allergies and a slight dog one. anything i can do to help relieve the itchy eyes?

Yes: There are several antihistamine containing eye-drops both prescription or over the counter.  Ask your pharmacist to point them out to you.  I use them regularly an over the counter eye-drop and an oral medication,  i prefer zyrtec (cetirizine) but others work well.

You need : An Ophthalmologist evaluation, not an Optometrist, ask your primary doctor to refer you, good luck

i used to put two eye drops one for allergy other for dry eye , but today accidentally , i put an old cortisone eye drop i have been taken few month ago instead of the allergic one , that is happened only one time ? so is that dangerous ?

: Putting one drop of a cortisone eye drop into one of your eyes would have no adverse effect. The only thing to be careful of is infection if the tip came into contact with your eye and it is an old bottle that may not be very clean any more. So, if your eye gets red and has pus coming out of it, then see your doctor to see if you need antibiotic eye drops or ointment. Good luck!
