It varies: It really depends on your body weight, rate of metabolism, if you ate when you drunk, and on the amount and type of alcohol.  It also depends on your genetic ability to metabolize and tolerate alcohol.  Children of alcoholics will have a higher tolerance for alcohol. On average, the withdrawal lasts at least one day.  You can see alcohol makes you sick.  Have you considered stopping drinking?

Alcohol withdrawal: if you reduce the dose by a half you may have some withdrawal symptoms which you will have to deal with but you will be able to tolerate the Librium

Congratulations: on your recovery process.  Alcohol/drug withdrawing needs to be supervised by your doctor for your safety.  At some point he/she will encourage you to continue on your own and return if needed.  Malnutrition is a risk factor.  Lab testing for nutrient levels is best. Otherwise, include protein, good fats, and carbs in each meal.  Don't listen to the low fat and no eggs hype. It is not good science

Yes, but?: Wellbutrin (bupropion) can cause seizures, itself.  Alcohol withdrawal can cause seizures withing itself.  The combination of the two certainly would be a set up for a seizure.  I wold be very careful with this medication and going through a withdrawal episode.  You doctor may have you on the medication for a very specific reason and you should discuss this medicaiton and it's side effects carefully.

Yes: It may feel like one has the flu when experiencing what are known as withdrawal symptoms. Usually, one has to drink every day for at least one month, before they would have withdrawal symptoms after abruptly stopping. More over, the most severe kinds of withdrawal from alcohol can involve the person having a seizure, which can be dangerous as it can cause a person to stop breathing.

Probably not: As an alcoholic (?) you have more than likely developed a severe deficiency of vitamin b1.This will cause you to have an increased activity of the nervous control mechanisms of the heart and possibly the heart itself. Alcohol and b1 deficiency go together. Stop all forms of sugar and get plenty of rest. See your doctor for instructions  on b1.Lyou will need other vitamins as well.

Tapering: could be safer as sudden withdrawal from long term heavy abuse can result in death. i recommend a medically supervised detox facility.

Taper: It is why you taper. Benzodiazapines increase gamma amino butyric acid at a receptor. This increases GABA and causes cell to be less excited. When withdrawn the cells will be too excited. That is why it is important to taper the dose when stopping. Usually over a few days.
