Upper: Other issues would cause lower abdominal cramps.  Acid reflux (unless due to a rare tumor/glandular condition) would cause upper GI symptoms.

Unlikely: Preeclampsia, the state before eclampsia, which is seizures in pregnancy, is diagnosed as mild or severe. Mild depends soley on bp, greater than 140/90, or not pre-existing before 20 weeks, and proteinuria. Severe needs the mild conditions, then adds either a higher bp, more protein, visual changes, and headache, with a few others, but elevated BP is required.

You need to  be: scoped and have a GI expert look into your esophagus and stomach lining. You must be tested for stomach ulceration and get an H. pylori test for infectious gastritis.

Dietary changes: An alteration of intestinal motility or bacteria.
Dietary factors, such as an increased intake of lactose, fructose, sorbitol, indigestible starches in fruits, vegetables, and legumes, and carbonated beverages. Products such as pork, upon digestion, may release trace concentrations of malodorous gases.
Psychological factors.

: Here are a few suggestion. Please seek your doctor’s advice with regard to smoking and alcohol cessation if applicable and acid inhibiting diets. Lose weight if you are overweight. Get advice from your doctor with regard to what measures are most applicable. Good luck.

: Acid reflux is treatable and there are over the counter medications available. If you have reflux symptoms with meals, please see your physician. Morning mild sore throat may also be caused by an allergic reaction. Do you have nasal congestion? Watch for vomiting and worsening abdominal. pain.

No: This is either something else, or you didn't have reflux to begin with. I see a lot of patients who are put on ppis for upper abdominal pain, told they have reflux or an ulcer, and when the pain doesn't improve they finally get some tests and it turns out it was their gall bladder the whole time. Try eating pizza for dinner, then ice cream for dessert. If that brings on the pain, it's not reflux!

Problem is GERDs: Having cramps from air instilled in colon for colonoscopy is not uncommon.  Upper GI scoping will not cause sore throat.  More likely the Barretts is from reflux esophagitis and the acid reflux is a result of the reflux problem.  Use of omeprazole may help symptoms
