can a uti resolve itself? i had uti symptoms for 10 days then go away without meds years ago. i've since had many utis treated, could there be damage?

UTIs can go away!: Not all bladder infections require antibiotics. If you drink a lot of fluid, especially water or cranberry juice you may clear the symptoms. If they persist, worsen or you see blood in urine, contact your healthcare provider.

are there any links between having nexplianon and uti? this is my second time getting meds for uti, and it still won't go away!

See GYN or urologist: There are many reasons for this. You will need urine culture to see if there is really an infection and if so what kind. I am not aware that nexplianon is the cause and it is not an antibiotic.

i have itchy painfull bumps in opening of vagina hole.caused by yest or uti? on meds for both.will bumps go away?

Maybe,maybe not: Depends on the cause. If the bumps are related to either they should disappear. If they are due to hpv , molluscum or other orign they will likely last a while. Lack of response may indicate another issue or inaccurate initial diagnosis.

Maybe/not: We know now that cranberry juice does have chemical agents which interfere with the ability of e.coli to thrive in the bladder. We also know that not all burning during urination is due to a UTI. The fact is you may or may not have or have had a UTI and the symptoms may persist because you are not treating it.Proper evaluation &amp; exclusion of this or other possibilities would be a wise choice.

i had a uti that came from sex. (not std) after i finished my meds, i had sex 2wks later and had cramps that came and went. will this ever go away? :(

Yes, but with your: Constellation of problems,  do not want to fall into cyclic bladder pain.  Make sure there is not another infection via culture of urine, if recurrent, after sex,  antibiotic after may help. You already have back pain, headaches.  Do u sleep at night or clinch teeth? Any mood or stress problems?  You may benefit from low dose Cymbalta (duloxetine) to help general pain, don't want bladder added to pain list.

Possible: If the UTI is attacked head on with forced fluids and you have a good immune response, it is possible to flush out the bactreia in the bladder and the body wins the battle.  I would not count on this.  If you have burning, pain, frequency of urination, need to go immediately, and cerainly if fever, back pain, nausea, chills or vomiting, get seen right away for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

UTI treatment: It would be in your best interest to be treated as most, if not all, UTI's do not go away on their own.   With current antibiotics you might be able to be treated with as little as 3-5 days of medication, and this is typically well tolerated. Unless there is a specifici reason for not taking antibiotics, such as an allergy, a short course should be sufficient in a young woman

It may not!: The reason we treat urinary infections is because they don't easily resolve, and can lead to more serious infections, as well as damage to the urinary tract. People who think they have a UTI should be evaluated and treated promptly.

UTI and pregnancy: The immune system of pregnant women is lower than that of women who are not pregnant; infections have more difficulty resolving on their own.
