Yes and many do: plenty of fluids and orange/ cranberry juice helps also

Probably not: if you have a history of previous UTI requiring antibiotics then you will likely need to be treated. Although most UTIs are simple infections and occur in the bladder, if untreated, it may spread to the kidneys (pyelonephritis) and is a medical emergency.
